How to resend a previously sent invoice, including to fill in an empty order number.
Resending a previously sent invoice can be necessary when delivery failed, the recipient's EndpointID was incorrect, or a reference (such as an order number) needs to be corrected. On the eConnect platform you can do this from the Outbox.
Go to the Outbox and click the invoice you want to resend.
In the invoice details, click Resend.
Check the details. Before sending you can still change fields, such as the recipient's EndpointID (Peppol address) or the reference (order number, PO number).
Click Send. The invoice is sent again with the same invoice number. The platform records that this is a resend.
Resending is the right action in these situations:
Resending is not the right choice if the invoice content itself is wrong (wrong amount, wrong recipient). In that case, first send a credit note and then create a new invoice.
If delivery failed because of an incorrect Peppol address, you can change the EndpointID when resending. Check the recipient's correct Chamber of Commerce number or OIN. For government organisations the OIN must always contain exactly 20 digits, including leading zeros.
Yes. Before you actually resend, you can still change fields such as the reference (PO number, OrderReference). The invoice is then sent again with the same invoice number but with the corrected reference. This saves the credit-and-new-invoice route.
The most common reasons: delivery failed (error in the Peppol address), the recipient rejected the invoice because of a wrong order number, or there was a temporary outage at the receiving party. You can then offer the invoice again, optionally with corrected details.
Yes. The invoice keeps the same invoice number. Only the fields you changed (such as the reference or the EndpointID) are updated. The recipient receives the invoice as a new delivery.
Does the error message return after resending? Check the details or see the common sending errors.
