eConnect can deliver invoices to recipients using Coupa or SAP Ariba (SAP Business Network). The platform automatically transforms your UBL invoices to the cXML format required by these platforms. Onboarding is handled by the eConnect tech team.

Coupa

When connecting via Coupa, the following steps take place:

  1. eConnect transforms your UBL invoice to cXML for delivery to the Coupa recipient.
  2. The customer creates accounts on the Coupa CSP test and live environments.
  3. The receiving party creates a Shared Secret for authentication.
  4. The eConnect tech team sets up the actual connection.
SAP Ariba (SAP Business Network)

SAP Ariba works similarly to Coupa, but via the SAP Business Network:

  • Above a certain annual volume or amount, SAP requires a paid subscription (at least Silver/Enterprise for automated cXML exchange).
  • Unlike Peppol, Ariba uses 1-to-1 trading relationships: the supplier shares an AN-ID with the buyer.
  • The test environment uses an AN-ID with the suffix "-T".

What is the difference between a Coupa and a Peppol integration?

With Peppol, eConnect automatically routes invoices via the open network based on the recipient ID. With Coupa, a UBL-to-cXML transformation takes place and invoices are delivered to the recipient's Coupa platform. Onboarding for Coupa is handled by the eConnect tech team.

Do I need a separate SAP Ariba subscription?

It depends on your invoice volumes. Above a certain annual volume or amount, SAP requires a paid subscription (at least Silver/Enterprise) for automated cXML exchange. Contact eConnect sales for advice on the right configuration.

Can I set up the Coupa or Ariba integration myself?

No, the onboarding is fully guided by the eConnect tech team. You only need to create the required accounts and Shared Secrets on the relevant platform. The eConnect team sets up the technical connection.
